Hello, welcome.
My name is Lisa Dearie. I'm excited to tell you about a company called Birmingham Deafblind or BDB for short.
BDB was established in 2024. Our mission is to support Deaf, Blind, and Deafblind people by creating a tailor-made service for the individual's needs.
Our staff provides support with shopping, appointments, housework, getting involved with the community, and access to new opportunities.
We do this by working together with family, friends, and social workers.
BDB provides communication guides, support workers, interpreters, and PAs.
At BDB, we understand the people we support all have different needs. It is their right to live independently whilst having access to high-quality support and information in their preferred language.
This means the people we support can carry on being independent, have accessibility, and become confident by making their own choices.
